Christian Golf Society looks to boost numbers
If you've got a decent swing and good enough handicap, the Christian Golf Society want you to join.
It’s teeing off in its first tournament in September and wants any potential Tiger Woods to join in at the event in Essex.
Martin Eady is one of the organisers of the event, and told Premier how the idea came about.
He said: “Well we actually already organise a golf day for our church, where we bring in guests from outside the church.
“It’s a lovely day and people share stories and friendship.
“We thought of expanding that a little, so we thought of organising one county-wide in Essex.”
He added that it is a great opportunity to bring non-Christians to Christ: “We’re looking between 16-24 churches or teams, and each church will have four people.
“There’ll be two church members and two guests, or as we’d say ‘non-believers’. We’re hoping that it’s an overtly evangelistic day.”
